We have Faith Formation for both children and adults alike! These programs will run on Sunday mornings, starting September 22, 2024,at the Faith Formation building on St. Anthony’s campus located behind St. Anthony Church at 14 Phoenix St. in Shirley, The Faith Formation building parking lot can be accessed from Whiteley Street &/or Tolman Avenue.

Greetings Friends in Christ,

We have been busily working on our Faith Formation program for the upcoming year for our youth and adults. We’re hoping this helps you and your children develop better personal relationships with Christ and your Catholic faith.

The weekly, in-person program will begin on Sunday, September 22, for our children and for our adults.

The anticipated schedule each week will be:

9:00-10:15 am Each group participates in their appropriate sessions starting promptly at 9 am.
10:15-10:30 am Parents collect their children from the Faith Formation building.
10:30 am Mass at St. Anthony Church. We encourage families to attend 10:30 am Mass together.

Please complete & submit the form by August 19. Participating in Faith Formation is free, however, as in the past, there is a requested donation with registration. Any amount is always appreciated to offset the increasing costs associated with running the program.

A description of the Children’s Faith Formation groupings can be found here or by clicking on "Classroom Groupings" near the top right of this page. These are different from last year as there's been an age-change for Confirmation.

A Family Faith Formation informational meeting was held on August 13. Please click on "8-13-24 FF MTG NOTES" at the right of this page to see the notes from that meeting.

We are always in need of teachers for the Faith Formation program, especially Confirmation due to its increased size this year. Please prayerfully consider sharing your faith with others. You don’t have to be a theologian or scholar! Being enthusiastic to share your faith is a big part of it. The teaching materials and support are provided. Complete a CORI at the Parish Office prior to teaching.

If you haven't taken the VIRTUS "Protecting God's Children" course already, please register at www.VIRTUSonline.org. It is being offered for free in the Faith Formation building in Shirley on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 6-9pm. All teachers must take it just once in their lifetime, but parents and teachers alike can benefit from this course. If this date doesn't work for you, check out other dates & locations at the VIRTUS website. It's one of the ways for parents to be made aware of the possible dangers to their children.
