Faith Formation will run on Sunday mornings, starting September 14, 2025, at the Faith Formation building on St. Anthony’s campus located behind St. Anthony Church at 14 Phoenix St. in Shirley, The Faith Formation building parking lot can be accessed from Whiteley Street &/or Tolman Avenue.

Greetings Friends in Christ,

We have been busily working on our Faith Formation program for the upcoming year for our youth and adults. We’re hoping this helps you and your children develop better personal relationships with Christ and your Catholic faith.

The weekly, in-person program will begin on Sunday, September 14, for our children.

The anticipated schedule each week will be:

9:00-10:15 am Each group participates in their appropriate sessions starting promptly at 9 am.
10:15-10:30 am Parents collect their children from the Faith Formation building.
10:30 am Mass at St. Anthony Church. We encourage families to attend 10:30 am Mass together.

Please complete & submit the form by August 10, so we may order the appropriate number of materials in time for the beginning of classes. Participating in Faith Formation is $100 per child with a cap of $250 per family with registration. If you're a Faith Formation teacher at St. Nicholas Parish, you can register your children for free.

A description of the Children’s Faith Formation groupings can be found here or by clicking on "Classroom Groupings" near the top right of this page. There was an age-change for Confirmation as of April, 2024, so these changed as of September, 2024.

Due to Marianne Cooper's retirement on June 13, 2025, there is a need for a Faith Formation Coordinator to continue leading the program. Please contact Father Joe if you are interested. Marianne would love to assist the person taking over prior to her departure.

We are always in need of teachers for the Faith Formation program. Please prayerfully consider sharing your faith with others. You don’t have to be a theologian or scholar! Being enthusiastic to share your faith is a big part of it. The teaching materials and support are provided. Complete a CORI at the Parish Office prior to teaching.

If you haven't taken the VIRTUS "Protecting God's Children" course already, please register at www.VIRTUSonline.org. It is offered throughout the diocese All teachers must take it just once in their lifetime, but parents and teachers alike can benefit from this course. It's one of the ways for parents to be made aware of the possible dangers to their children.
